Labiaplasty Surgery
Labiaplasty, is a surgical procedure that removes excess tissue and reshapes the labia minora and clitoral hood. The labia majora can also be addressed if required. Rather than simply performing wedge or edge-trim procedures, our Plastic Surgeons are experienced in comprehensive techniques that address all areas of concern in a single procedure, to create balance in the size, shape and colour of the labia.
How the surgery is performed
Labiaplasty surgery is usually performed under local anaesthetic, as a day case procedure. Sedation can be provided by our team of Consultant Anaesthetists if required, but most women tolerate the procedure under local anaesthetic alone.
Rather than focusing solely on the labia minora, our Plastic Surgeons are experienced in reshaping the entire complex of labia minora, clitoral hood and labia majora to create a balanced appearance and reduce symptoms of discomfort. They will discuss the options with you and together, you will decide on an approach that meets your goals.
What to expect after surgery
The procedure takes about 1 hour and you will be able to go home shortly after surgery. Swelling and bruising are common and should be expected. You will be given personalised post-surgical advice to help you make a swift recovery and our nurses will support you during the recovery period and post-operative appointments.
You will return to the clinic 1 week after the procedure for wound care and a general check-up from one of our experienced nurses.
